For visual arts we are focusing on communicating and interpreting ideas about artwork.
Our first lessons were about using the elements of art to talk about different paintings.
our responses . . .
What this picture makes me think of is people
going to church at night and daytime. The elements I think of is value because of
its light and dark colours. The other element is line because the hills are
carved and the sky tower is straight and pointy. The third element I really
love is shape because the sun is both an organic and geometric circle. The title I would give this picture is Blue Sky.

I
can see elements being used. The first
is colour. The colour has strong value and some strong brightness and darkness. I
think that the artist wanted to show people the beautiful view of night. The
other thing that stands out for me is the lines there are some lines that are
wiggly and straight and some are whirly, crooked and curved. This shows me that the artist is giving a
message. I also see texture it looks shiny to touch. The last element that I
can see is shape I can see organic in the fire and geometric on the buildings.

The
first elements being used are value, line and texture. I can see the colour
going from light to dark. The other
element I can see is lines. You can see curved
lines, thin lines to thick line and you can also see wiggly lines. The last
elements you can see is texture I could tell by the picture that it is rough and
some parts are smooth. I think the artist drew this picture at night time to show
the people how it stands out. The title
I would give this picture is NIGHT SKY IN THE CITY.
J-Leigh
The first element I can see is the element of
value. I can see dark and some lightness
all around the sky.
The next element I can see is line. THERE ARE WIGGLY LINES that make the sky look
thick. I can see straight and curvy lines on the black tree. I can see some
strong brightness. This picture has houses
and towers everywhere.
Taipisa
The
elements that stand out the most are the value, texture and the shape. It feels
soft and smooth when you touch it. I think it is geometric and organic. The
value is a bit of light and a bit of dull. The line is like curvy and dull. It looks
kind of 3d because of the darkness. The title I would give this picture is The
Colourful City.
Vicki
I can see mountains, the sun, and
houses. I also see a sky tower, trees and
the clouds. There are lights, wind and lots
of different colours. The element that really sticks out for me is the value of
the lightness to darkness. And the other element is straight lines and wiggly
lines and thick lines. And the last element is shape organic and geometric.
Sesilia.
I can see the elements of Value which is
dark. I also see a little bit of light. The title I would give picture is The Night
sky
May
The element that I see is the line. The wind
has a curved shape. What I also see is value of light and dark. The
buildings are dark and and the sky is light.
I also can see texture. What I can feel is smooth and soft.
Magdalene
The elements I see are value and shape. The value of this picture is very dark and a
little bit light. The shape of this picture is squiggly and wavy I would call
this The Sky.
Lillian
The element that I see is colour and the
value of lightness and the darkness. The second element is the 3D form of the
church. It’s on the side face. The third element is line it has wiggly line
curved lines. The last element is shape it has organic shape in the sun. The
title I would give this picture is The City.
Isimasi
In this art work I can see three elements. The first element is line. I can see curved lines. I think the artist used curved lines because
he wants the weather to be interesting. The
second element is shape. For shape I can see organic and geometric. The organic
shape is fire, the weather and the mountains. The geometric shape I can see is the
city. The last element I notice is colour. The intensity I see is bright and
strong , I think he chose to make the
art work bright and strong so it can make the picture stand out for viewers. The title I will give this picture is
“Avondale Road”
Ethan
The
elements in this picture we can see are line and some shapes. The sky is light
and at the bottom of the sky we can see dark but we can see a little colour in
the houses which is called value. Next up we have lines. There are different
kind of lines which is also called straight lines and wiggly lines and also there
are also lines in the sky. The title we
would give this picture is The Nice Dark Sky.

I can see some value, texture and shapes. I
can see some dark and lights in the town. I think the artist did it to make it seem
like its 3D. It feels like it’s rough but windy. I see some organic shapes from
the mountain. The title I would give
this picture is A Windy Day.
Dianne
In this art
work I am going to tell you what I think that stands out the most. The thing
that stands out is line. I can see curvy lines in the background. Next is
shape. I can see geometric shapes in the background and organic shapes in the
city. I can also see value in it. In the sky I can see light colours and in the
mountains are dark. Next is texture. The picture looks rough and I think the
artist is very tired.
Diana
In
this painting I can see some value there is mostly darkness in this painting
because it is night time. The painter
has put on some dark colour on the houses and streets, so we can know it is
night time. Up in the sky I can see
brightness from the stars and I can see that the mountains are reflecting to the
sky because the stars are very bright and the sky is getting lighter.
I
can see some texture in the painting, if I could feel the mountains in the
painting I would think it would be kind
of rough because some of the grass is growing rough and that some grass are very bendy and soft. The title I would give this picture is The
Night Sky.
Annie
In this
city picture I can see some elements being used. The first that I noticed is
line. One way that the artist has made
detail is the way he sketched the buildings with curvy and straight lines as
well as the curvy night sky. Next is value, the background is a light colour as
it comes to some black long leaves. Third is texture. The artist made it look a
little bit light and I look at how it would be for me when I touch it. I think it
may be smooth on the buildings, but rough on the leaves. The title I would give this picture is The
Blue Night Sky.
Anastasia
I can see the elements of colour and line.
The sky is free flowing and very organic. I can see there are swirly and curved
lines. The colour of the sky is dark blue yellowish and white mixed together
also black outlines. The mountain is very dark and the houses are very dull and
dark. I think he used these colours because at night the sky is very dark. The
title I would give this picture is The Sky at Night.
Gabrielle
Good thinking room 32 about the painting and the painting looks very nice and my favorite paragraph is Gabrielle's because she is using her eyes to see what's in the painting.
ReplyDeleteMagdalene I like the way you described the wind as curled lines and the way you said the texture was smooth and soft. I also liked the way you said the buildings were dark and the sky was light. You are amazing at pointing out the different elements in this painting.
